The original painting was commissioned by Smartwool \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ein 2020 to be used in an apparel line in fall 2021. We The team at Smartwool and I put our heads together to come up with the concept. We settled on featuring oft-visited Colorado wilderness areas\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and working in some structure that resembled tents and other temporary infrastructures that humans create in order to more deeply submerge themselves in nature.
