Alex Lines
Alex Lines is a printmaker based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alex was raised by artists, and was encouraged to explore their love of painting and drawing from a young age. Alex initially picked up printmaking as a hobby after graduating college in 2018 and immediately fell in love with the process.
Alex is drawn to the physical nature of printmaking, as well as the historical importance of the process. They love being completely immersed in their work, spending hours carving linoleum and then the exciting reveal of pulling the first print from the press. Their work has been described as “mesmerizing,” “captivating,” and “stunning”. They are continually honing their skills, attending classes, multi-day workshops, and residencies.
Currently a part-time artist, Alex sells their work at local markets, teaches classes, and takes custom commissions. Their inspiration comes from the mountains, gardening, and long hikes with their dog. They are a member of Saltgrass Printmakers.
