Saturania Print

Saturnia depicts three women steaming in Italy's famous Saturnia Hot Springs. Hot springs have ever-fascinated me as they provide the rare opportunity to observe the release of thermal energy that is otherwise broiling beneath the earth’s surface. Referred to as “Cascate del Mulino” in Italian, these naturally occuring springs are particularly striking due to the silky-blue shade of the waters and the tiered pools that are so perfectly constructed its almost hard to believe they are not man-made. One ancient Etruscan / Roman legend posited that the springs were formed by lightning bolts thrown by Jupiter. I referenced a photograph taken by Daniel Scull for the painting, one that I found while perusing images of these gorgeous natural springs while researching places to visit during my 2021 honeymoon. My new husband Taylor and I did actually visit the hot springs after the painting was finished - they did not disappoint.

PRINT DETAILS:

- This is an archival print of my original painting.
- Each print is signed on the front.
- Frame and mat are NOT included.
- All of my prints are produced with professional art materials including pigment-based inks and archival Somerset Velvet fine art paper. 
-In order to keep your print in great condition it is important to frame with archival materials (mats, backing board, etc.), keep out of direct sunlight, and UV glass if you really want to go all-out!

SIZE:

- Paper is larger than the listed size, as there is a ~1.25" white border around the actual image to enable easier matting, or float mounting to display the deckled edges of the paper.
- Image itself is shrunk down ~1/4" from size listed to expose signature line when matted or framed in the corresponding standard sized mat/frame.
